Durante los últimos meses, hemos publicado varias entradas sobre el proyecto de documental España, la primera globalización. Por fin, el 2 de octubre ha tenido lugar el preestreno en Madrid con gran éxito.
El cine estaba abarrotado y al finalizar la proyección hubo una larguísima ovación de los asistentes al director José Luis López-Linares.
Muchos de los historiadores, economistas, filósofos, periodistas, etc, que participan en el documental asistieron al preestreno. Allí estaban Elvira Roca (autora de los ensayos Imperiofobia y Leyenda Negra y Fracasología), Marcelo Gullo (autor de Madre Patria) y Pedro Insúa, solo por citar algunos.

In recent months, we have published several posts about the documentary project Spain, the first globalization. Finally, on October 2 the preview has taken place in Madrid with great success.
The cinema was crowded and at the end of the screening there was a long standing ovation from the audience for director José Luis López-Linares.
The preview was attended by many of the historians, economists, philosophers, journalists, etc., who participate in the documentary. There were Elvira Roca (author of the essays Imperiophobia and Black Legend and Fracasology), Marcelo Gullo (author of Madre Patria) and Pedro Insúa, among others.

En la entrada Dragones de cuera dijimos muy de pasada que en 1774 el capitán Juan Bautista de Anza logró encontrar una ruta terrestre desde el presidio de Tubac, en Sonora, hasta Alta California.
Al año siguiente, ya ascendido a teniente coronel, Anza condujo en una nueva expedición a varios centenares de colonos y soldados con sus familias y abundante ganado. Estos colonos fueron quiénes llevaron el idioma, las costumbres, la religión y la cultura española a esa parte del mundo.
Anza continuó viaje hasta la bahía de San Francisco, donde escogió el lugar en el que se emplazarían un presidio y una misión, germen de la actual ciudad de San Francisco. Todo esto ocurría en 1776, al mismo tiempo que las 13 colonias británicas de la costa este proclamaban su Declaración de Independencia.
En la web del National Park Service (NPS) de los Estados Unidos de América puede encontrar un vídeo con la narración de esta epopeya en un corrido. El corrido es un género musical en México que narra la historia verdadera de un personaje real y/o mítico. En este caso, el rigor histórico y la realización son impecables. Y las intérpretes cantan muy bien.
In the post Cuera dragoons (Leather Jacket Soldiers) we said in passing that in 1774 Captain Juan Bautista de Anza managed to find a land route from the Tubac presidio, in Sonora, to Alta California.
The following year, already promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, Anza led several hundred settlers and soldiers with their families and abundant livestock on a new expedition. These settlers were the ones who brought the Spanish language, customs, religion and culture to that part of the world.
Anza continued his journey to San Francisco Bay, where he chose the place to locate a presidio (fort) and a mission, the seed of the current city of San Francisco. All this happened in 1776, at the same time that the 13 British colonies on the east coast proclaimed their Declaration of Independence.

En el edificio de información que Polaris World tenía muy cerca de la entrada al resort, un grupo de voluntarios británicos coordinados por Peter Rowland presta un útil servicio a los residentes en Hacienda Riquelme.

In the information building that Polaris World had very close to the entrance to the resort, a group of British volunteers coordinated by Peter Rowland provides a useful service to the residents in Hacienda Riquelme.

El agua para el riego de las zonas verdes de Hacienda Riquelme lo suministra la desalinizadora de Valdelentisco. Esperemos que en un futuro próximo la cantidad suministrada, tan necesaria para la preservación de nuestros jardines, aumente.
The water for irrigation of the green areas of Hacienda Riquelme is supplied by the Valdelentisco desalination plant. Let's hope that in the near future the amount supplied, so necessary for the preservation of our gardens, will increase.

Carlos de Hita es un conocido técnico de sonido, en producción y postproducción, especializado en los sonidos de la naturaleza, actividad por la que ha recibido numerosos premios. El pasado 27 de marzo, publicó en el periódico digital El Confidencial el artículo del que hemos extraído el siguiente vídeo (1' 38"). Más de la mitad las especies que aparecen en él han sido vistas en Hacienda Riquelme y sus alrededores.
Carlos de Hita is a well-known sound technician, in production and post-production, specializing in the sounds of nature, an activity for which he has received numerous awards. On March 27, he published in the online newspaper El Confidencial the article from which we have extracted the following video (1' 38"). Over half of the species that appear in it have been seen in Hacienda Riquelme and nearby.
