Feria Internacional de Turismo Ornitológico / Extremadura Birdwatching Fair

Extremadura and the Monfragüe National Park are, from environment point of view, much more important than Murcia and Monte El Valle and Altaona and Escalona Sierras ZEPA (Zone of Special Protection for Birds). Nevertheless, the ornithological wealth of this ZEPA, located close to Hacienda Riquelme, is also relevant. This is the message we have tried to transmit in many posts.

In Extremadura, it is well known that birds are attractive for tourism and an International Birdwatching Fair is held near Monfragüe yearly.

In Murcia, the project The Country of the Owl intends to qualify as Biosphere Reserve, recognized by UNESCO, an area near our resort. This initiative has however aroused concern among farmers (see Sucina, ayer, hoy y siempre).

Regarding to Hacienda Riquelme, we wonder if it would be possible to preserve the paradise for birds that the resort was during the previous years.

Extremadura y el parque nacional de Monfragüe son, desde un punto de vista medioambiental, mucho más importantes que Murcia y la ZEPA (Zona de Especial Protección Para las Aves) de Monte El Valle y Sierras de Altaona y Escalona. Sin embargo, la riqueza ornitológica de esta ZEPA, situada junto a Hacienda Riquelme, es también relevante. Ese es el mensaje que hemos intentado transmitir en numerosas entradas de este blog.

En Extremadura, es bien sabido que las aves suponen un atractivo turístico y cada año se celebra cerca de Monfragüe una Feria Internacional de Turismo Ornitológico.

En Murcia, el proyecto El País del Búho intenta que una zona próxima al resort sea reconocida como Reserva de la Biosfera por la UNESCO. Esta iniciativa ha despertado no obstante nquietud entre los agricultores (ver Sucina  ayer, hoy y siempre).

En cuanto a Hacienda Riquelme, nos preguntamos si será posible mantener el paraíso para las aves que ha sido el resort en años anteriores.
