Un relato corto / A short story

A friend of mine has just told me this story.

He has an apartment in a holiday complex in Ibiza. He goes there from time to time.
For most of the year only a few foreigners live there. Several of them are responsible for the management of the complex. They work hard and are committed to taking care of it and to ensuring that everything is how they want it to be.
But they barely speak Spanish and do not know the idiosyncrasies of the country. They cannot communicate with Spanish suppliers or negotiate directly with them.
To negotiate with the Public Administration or Spanish companies they delegate the relevant tasks to the complex administrator. Although he was originally proposed by the builder, the truth is that he complies with their requirements and resolves issues that escape them.
When some owners say members of the management that they should keep control over delegated task, they feel their work is recriminated and they become suspicious and angry. The relationship between local and foreign residents becomes harder.
At the end, due to communication problems, unnecessary mistrust arises and everyone loses money!
