Nuevo procedimiento para elegir al Presidente / New procedure for electing the President

The President’s November 2010 newsletter is now available on Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort Community of Owners. We highlight three of the covered topics:

• Ron Locke has withdrawn his resignation and will remain as phase president until the AGM 2011.
• Several contracts are being under renegotiation with suppliers.
• The current Committee has approved a new procedure for electing the resort’s president.

The next president will be elected directly by the 78 sub-community presidents, elected in the AGM 2011. Although it was not the only alternative, we believe it is a more democratic system that the present one and we welcome this change.

However, there is still a serious underlying problem: the Committee will continue to be formed by the presidents of each phase. Since the first posts in this blog we have already said that each phase has a very different number of sub-communities and the organization and/or operation of the Committee needs to be changed to ensure a balanced representation of owners.

• Ron Locke ha retirado su dimisión y se mantendrá como presidente de fase hasta la AGM 2011.
• Se están renegociando varios contratos con proveedores.
• El actual Comité ha aprobado un nuevo procedimiento para la elección de presidente del resort.

El próximo presidente será elegido directamente por los 78 presidentes de subcomunidad que salgan de la AGM 2011. Aunque no era la única alternativa, creemos que es un procedimiento más democrático que el actual y nos alegramos del cambio.

Sin embargo, persiste un problema de fondo grave: el Comité continuará estando formado por los presidentes de fase. Desde las primeras entradas de este blog ya dijimos que, al tener cada fase un número muy variable de subcomunidades, la organización y/o funcionamiento del Comité requiere cambios para poder representar a los propietarios de forma equilibrada.

Renovación de contratos / Contracts renewing

Ahora que se aproxima la renovación de varios contratos con proveedores, los gestores del resort están más que nunca en el ojo del huracán.

Un presidente de fase recomendaba hace muy poco que no se creyera lo que lee en foros y blogs. Por eso, un grupo de propietarios hemos preparado una serie de preguntas que le sugerimos lea. No hace falta que crea o deje de creer nada. Sólo busque respuestas y fórmese su propia opinión sobre la gestión de Hacienda Riquelme. Son más de 40. Están organizadas en seis temas:

• Contratos
• Estudios
• Contabilidad
• Información a los propietarios
• Administración y gestión del resort
• Relación con proveedores.

The time for renewing several contracts with suppliers is now approaching. The resort managers are more than ever before in the eye of the storm.

A phase president recently recommended that we should not believe what we read in forums and blogs. That is why a group of owners have prepared some questions that we suggest you read. There is no need to believe or stop believing anything. Just look for answers and make up your own minds about Hacienda Riquelme management. There are over 40 questions. They are organized in six groups:

• Administration and management of the resort
