Museo Histórico Militar de Cartagena / Cartagena's Military Historical Museum

If during your visits to Hacienda Riquelme you like also cultural tourism through the Region of Murcia, and especially if you are interested in military history, Cartagena is a must see.

You can find the Military Historical Museum in this city. It does not appear in all the guidebooks and yet we recommend a visit. It is housed in a building originally built in the eighteenth century that was Artillery Armory.

It contains objects of high interest. The collection of artillery guns is probably the best one in Spain. Among its gems there are two Sturmgeschutz III assault guns. Spain bought ten of these units to Germany in 1943 (a third one is in the Armoured Vehicles Collection in El Goloso, Madrid).

Several British residents collaborate in the restoration and maintenance of weapons and objects of this museum.
