Conocimos a José López, alias Sucina, cuando se nos estropeó el aire acondicionado y vino a nuestro apartamento a repararlo (email: Clima Sucina). Enseguida vimos que es una buena persona y un gran profesional. Pero hablando con él, nos enteramos que además es un experto escalador. El siguiente vídeo lo demuestra. Sus imágenes son impactantes (sobre todo el final).
We met José López, aka Sucina, when the air conditioning broke down and he came to our apartment to repair it (email: Clima Sucina). We immediately realised that he is a good person and a great professional. But speaking with him, we learned that he is also an expert climber. The following video proves it. Its images are shocking (especially the end).

When I was only 20 years old, when I saw the routes I thought that I would like to create something like this.
Close to my area is the Cabezo Gordo. Through my mountain club, they let me have a gas drill. Without any experience, but with a lot of motivation I started to try what it is to put a parabolt.
At first you bolt and you see that you can not imagine that they can made. But the years go by, and you see an evolution. And that the impossible can be possible.
After the Cabezo Gordo, we continue bolting in Murcia, in the Puerto de la Cadena. And then I would arrive at Cabezón de Oro.
CABEÇO D'OR - CABEZÓN DE ORO (Busot, Alicante)
I have spent 5 years of my life bolting here, in this crag. Routes of 40 meters, tufas. Very nice.
The first line was the one that caught my attention, and one of the most made. Sensación de pinzar.
EQUIPING IN MULA (MURCIA)
After Cabeço d'or, Sucina continued to bolt on her land.
I started with El Ferrari, and then the Perea ravine and the Perea cave.
The first way that I bolted was dedicated to my sister, the "Soledad". Then I bolted a second one, the "Joana, 8b". I bolted a third one, the "Antonia", which I dedicated to my mother. And, little by little, I was equipping the crag.
The climbing boom is beginning to affect the natural environments where it develops. Those who have learned in the rock, we really value the environment. But the people who leave the climbing gym maybe look more for the sporting zeal and the level.
Maybe, the ones we carry in the blood of bolting think differently. Create a route, clean it ... Take out the movements, and see how beautiful it is. And that people enjoy it later by climbing it.
We do not receive subsidies, we finance all the work that goes into bolting, all the material and travel.
At 20 parabolts. And each about € 1.5. More belay station. About € 40 comes one way price, about 20 plates. More or less.
Around Spain I will take about 500 routes. 25 years boltng. And what I have left, concludes Sucina.

Con sólo 20 años, cuando veía las líneas pensaba que a mi me gustaría crear algo así. Equipar.
Cerca de mi zona está el Cabezo Gordo. A través de mi club de montaña, me dejaron un taladro de gasolina. Sin experiencia ninguna, pero con mucha motivación me lancé a probar lo que es meter un parabolt.
Al principio se equipa y ves que ni te imaginas que puedan salir. Pero van pasando los años, y ves una evolución. Y que lo imposible sí puede ser posible.
Después del Cabezo Gordo, seguimos equipando en Murcia, en el Puerto de la Cadena. Y después llegaría al Cabezón de oro.

Después del Cabezón de Oro, Sucina siguió equipando en su tierra.
Empecé con El Ferrari, y después la rambla Perea y la cueva Perea.
La primera vía que equipé se la dediqué a mi hermana, la "Soledad". Luego equipé una segunda, la "Joana, 8b". Equipé una tercera, la "Antonia", que se la dediqué a mi madre. Y, poco a poco, fui equipando la pared.
El boom de la escalada está empezando a afectar a los entornos naturales donde se desarrolla. Los que hemos aprendido en la roca, valoramos realmente el entorno. Pero la gente que sale del rocódromo quizás mira más por el afán deportivo y el grado.
Quizás, los que llevamos en la sangre eso de equipar pensamos de otra manera. Crear una vía, limpiarla... Sacarle los movimientos, y ver lo guapa qué es. Y que la gente la disfrute luego escalándola.
No recibimos subvenciones. Todo el trabajo que conlleva equipar, todo el material y desplazamiento lo financiamos nosotros.
A 20 chapas. Y cada una con el parabolt sobre 1,5 €. Más el descuelgue. Unos 40 € sale precio de una vía, de unas 20 chapas. Más o menos.
Alrededor de España llevaré unas 500 vías. 25 años equipando. Y lo que me queda, finaliza Sucina.
