El pasado martes 17 de diciembre, personal de la empresa de jardinería del resort realizó una poda salvaje de los olivos situados en las proximidades de Atlántico 150. También en los olivos de otras zonas, aunque sin llegar al mismo nivel. Como consecuencia, se causó un destrozo intolerable en nuestro patrimonio arbóreo y se demostró la absoluta incompetencia del responsable o responsables de dar esa orden.
El olivo es un árbol típico del sur de España, de lento crecimiento, que no necesita este tipo de podas, que amenazan su supervivencia.
Los árboles son la parte más importante de nuestra jardinería. Además de su valor estético, retienen la tierra, facilitan la biodiversidad, dan sombra en verano y, una vez arraigados, requieran menos agua y mantenimiento.
Por todo lo anterior y por el elevado importe que la comunidad de propietarios paga por la jardinería, el error es inaceptable. Las disculpas del contratista llegan tarde.

Trees are the most important part of our gardening. In addition to their aesthetic value, they retain the land, encourage biodiversity, provide shade in summer, and once established, require less water and maintenance.
For all the above and for the high amount of money that the owner’s community pays for gardening, the error is unacceptable. Contractor's apologies come too late.

Pero lo anterior es solo la punta del iceberg. Cada vez más gente está harta de la gestión que se está realizando de nuestras zonas verdes. En la pasada AGM, y también por escrito, se ha insistido en que Hacienda Riquelme es un resort de estilo semi rústico. Como tal debe preservarse, puesto que así se diseñó y en él invirtieron los propietarios su dinero.
Otra cosa es que la escasez de agua obligue a introducir cambios en la jardinería. Eso es fácil de entender y asumir.
Pero lo que es completamente diferente es que se aproveche la disculpa de la falta de agua para introducir cambios que, como poco, muchos consideran horteras, caprichosos y arbitrarios.

But the above is just the tip of the iceberg. More and more people are fed up with the management that is being carried out in our green areas. In the last AGM, and in writing, it has been insisted that Hacienda Riquelme is a semi-rustic style resort. As such it must be preserved, since that is how it was designed, and the owners invested their money in it.
Another thing is that the water shortage forces to introduce changes in the gardening. This is easy to understand and assume.
But what is completely different is to take advantage of the lack of water to introduce changes that, at the very least, many consider tacky, capricious and arbitrary.

Todavía hay más temas. Uno es el escaso desarrollo de los árboles en ciertas zonas del resort, de lo que ya hablamos en diversas entradas de este blog.
Otro es el sistemático silencio por parte de los responsables y a lo largo de muchos años ante las sugerencias, peticiones, quejas, consultas, fotos, archivos pptx… enviados por otros propietarios.
Hay gente que parece creer que el resort es solo suyo y que el hecho de trabajar mucho, cosa que no dudamos, justifica cualquier decisión, aunque no se respeten los derechos de otros.
Ojalá que algunos con su dimisión contribuyan a que Hacienda Riquelme siga siendo el resort más bonito de Murcia.
There are still more topics. One is the very poor development of trees in certain areas of the resort. We have already talked about it in several posts in this blog.
Another is the systematic silence over many years by the people responsible, whenever they receive suggestions, requests, complaints, queries, photos, pptx files ... sent by other owners.
There are people that seem to believe that the resort is only theirs and that the fact of working hard, what we do not doubt it, justifies any decision, even if the rights of others are not respected.
Hopefully the pending resignation of some will help Hacienda Riquelme continue being the most beautiful resort in Murcia.
