Hacienda Riquelme Desert Resort

Durante años, hemos sido críticos con la política de jardinería seguida en el resort y con el desempeño de la empresa encargada de su mantenimiento. Son bastantes los propietarios que nos han pedido hacernos eco de sus protestas, a menudo censuradas en diferentes grupos de Facebook.

Durante años, hemos presentado propuestas alternativas redactadas por especialistas, que han sido ignoradas.

Durante años, hemos visto plantar hileras de cipreses, como si esto fuera un cementerio español. Podar con formas rectangulares setos situados en medio de la nada. Descuidar árboles que cuando se sequen tardarán muchos años en ser repuestos y crecer. Eliminar cualquier atisbo de zona silvestre. Ignorar la existencia de especies autóctonas capaces de resistir la escasez de agua.

Cada vez hay menos que segar, menos que podar, menos que regar, menos que fumigar. Entonces ¿por qué seguimos pagando lo mismo?

For years, we have been critical of the landscaping policy followed at the resort and the performance of the company in charge of its maintenance. Many owners have asked us to echo their protests, often censored in different Facebook groups.

For years, we have presented alternative proposals written by specialists, which have been ignored.

For years, we have seen rows of cypress trees planted, as if this were a Spanish cemetery. Pruning rectangular shaped hedges in the middle of nowhere. Neglecting trees that when they dry out will take many years to replace and grow. Eliminate any hint of wilderness. Ignoring the existence of native species capable of withstanding water scarcity.

There is less and less to mow, less to prune, less to irrigate, less to spray. So why are we still paying the same?

¿Jardín o desierto? El sur del resort parece estar muy descuidado. Hay demasiadas zonas sin ninguna planta. Esperemos que se haga una restauración cuando terminen las obras.
